What is Optical Fiber Cleaver?

1. Scribe Optical Fiber Cleaver
Scribe optical fiber cleaver is usually shaped like a ballpoint pen with diamond-tipped wedges. It has a carbide or diamond sharp tip to scratch the fiber manually then the user pulls the fiber to break it. Scribe optical fiber cleaver removes the excess fibers from the end of a connector before polishing.

The handheld pocket also called the score and snap optical fiber cleaver is designed for cleaving fiber in the field quickly and easily. It is used in multi-mode applications for premise and campus installations where precise cleaves are not required. The handheld pocket optical fiber cleaver has a ceramic blade and lightweight size.

3. Precision Optical Fiber Cleaver
A precision optical fiber cleaver uses a diamond or tungsten wheel/blade to provide the nick in the fiber. Tension is then applied to the fiber to create the cleaved end face.  It can produce repeatable results through thousands of cleaves by rotating the wheel/blade accordingly. Precision optical fiber cleaver can cut multiple fibers with increasing speed, efficiency, and accuracy. It can give a precise cut at a cleave angle of 90 degrees to the fiber end.
