Know the Details of the Network Video Recorder

Date: 2023-05-22 17:27:00

Video Surveillance has been popular in recent years, bringing convenience to people's daily life, such as remote video monitoring, facility protection, and loss prevention. Network video recorder (NVR) is used in many surveillance systems by connecting with IP Cameras to provide images and videos. This article discusses everything you need to know about NVR.
\
What is a Network Video Recorder?
A network video recorder (NVR) is a specialized computer system that includes a software program. It is used in an IP video surveillance system to record video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, SD memory card, or other mass storage device.
\
Types of Network Video Recorder
According to the functions of power over Ethernet (PoE), NVR has two types PoE NVR and Non-PoE NVR types. PoE NVR is used with PoE-based IP cameras. The IP cameras are plugged into the NVR's PoE ports and do not require a separate power adapter to work. Non-PoE NVR has no Ethernet ports for IP cameras to connect to on the back panel but can add IP cameras with the built-in scan function that finds IP cameras connected to the same network.
According to the number of channels, NVR is divided into 4/8/9/16/25/32/36/64-channel NVR, etc.
How Does NVR Work in an IP Camera System?
The IP camera system consists of IP cameras, a network, and the NVR. NVR receives video footage through a network data connection and store footage for review. NVR contains Ethernet ports that users can connect to multiple cameras on one side. It can hook up the router, monitor, or viewing station on the other side to show what happened. IP cameras capture and process video and audio data, while NVR helps to record videos and manage cameras. IP cameras connect to the NVR using an ethernet cable.
\
Features and Benefits
An NVR provides the following features and benefits:

● Supports decoding H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 video formats
● Up to 1ch @ 4K decoding capacity
● Up to 5MP/4K high-definition live view, storage and playback
● Up to 80/120 Mbps high incoming bandwidth ensures IP cameras can be connected
● 1 HDMI and 1 VGA interface: both interfaces support independent video output
● 1/2/8 HDD for continuous video recording
Applications
An NVR is used in CCTV and Surveillance, home, business, public safety, etc.
\
Conclusion
Video surveillance is closely related to life. Therefore great importance should be attached to choosing NVR with IP cameras to meet specific needs.Sun Telecom specializes in providing one-stop total fiber optic solutions for all fiber optic application industries worldwide.
